The Last Stand: is the most recent exhibition mounted by photographer extraordinaire David Ellingsen. In the poetry world, there is a stock saying which goes, ‘show, don’t tell’. This series of photographs shows the stumps of old growth trees. It is powerful, haunting and says more than any treatise on old growth forest practices ever could. I feel deeply honored that the exhibition includes one of my poems, The Last Tree, which will travel wherever the exhibition goes. Check out Davids work.
