A family affaire: Reading at Marnie’s courtyard on August 8th 2014, In Manson’s Landing, Cortes Island. One family, three books, one year. This family reading featured introductory poems by myself, introduction by Sadhu Johnston my son and author of The Guide to Greening cities. As well as introducing his wife, Manda, he also introduced to the island a recycling receptacle for cigarette butts, only the fifth place in the world so far that will host such a receptacle. Manda Gillespie (my daughter in law ) launched her amazing book GreenMama: Giving your kids a healthy start and a brighter future. This book is a ‘must have’ for any young or old households who care about their immediate environment. Her website is also a fount of hard to come by information. We had a blast preparing for this reading, exploring the ways each of us approach and address our environmental concerns.
